Home: Welcome

“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another".

About Me

Serving Clients Since 2018

Background

I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in treating depression, trauma, and chronic illness- and pain- related mental health issues. I have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University.

I have been in the helping profession since 2011, and my experience includes working in community mental health, psychiatric inpatient care, skilled nursing facilities, and in-home caregiving. I have worked with adults of all ages and diverse backgrounds and I use a multicultural perspective to approach my clients openly and sensitively.

Approach

My approach to therapy is an integration of cognitive behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness techniques, positive psychology, and holistic health education. I am a flexible therapist, and adapt my therapeutic interventions to my clients, attending to their unique backgrounds and issues.

I can help you identify the causes of your distress, ask you about your thoughts, and work with you to make positive changes in your life, relationships, and yourself. I believe that every individual has unique character strengths. Sometimes our positive qualities are covered over by adverse life experiences. I feel that my role as a therapist is to guide you during your journey of healing, and I would be honored to walk alongside you during this process.
